Our second vintage from the Teldeschi Vineyard, the 2014 Ancient Vine Zinfandel adds newdimensions to the style and quality we established with our previous vintages of vineyard-designate Zinfandels. Sourced from a vineyard block of 120 year-old vines on the east side of Dry Creek Valley, this wine is a bold, complex expression of the characteristics of ripeness and maturity that define the style of wine we strive for here at David Clinton: an approachable Zinfandel with rich red/black-fruit flavors, balanced with crisp acidity, and a layered, lingering finish.

The 2014 Ancient Vine vintage from Teldeschi Vineyard showcases the rich fruit and flavor concentration associated with vines of this age and pedigree.  Building on the style we have demonstrated in previous vintages, this wine shows vibrant aromas and fresh flavors of raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, and blueberry, with slight notes of licorice, tar and vanilla.  The finish on this wine is not bashful, filled with spice and black pepper that integrate with and complement the wine’s tannins. The wine’s bold flavors and complex, yet balanced structure allows it to pair nicely with a broad range of food styles, including pasta dishes, grilled meats and vegetables, and barbecue.

2012 Forté – Zinfandel Dessert Wine

Unti Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County  |  $24 (375ml)

CURRENT RELEASE – ORDER HERE

We made our inaugural dessert wine, the 2012 Forté Zinfandel, in the style of traditional port wines. Our 2012 Forté combines the rich red/dark fruit flavors of the 2012 Unti Vineyard Zinfandel with luscious natural grape sugars, fortified with the warmth and depth of grape brandy.

The 2012 Forté, sourced from the same old-vine vineyard as our 2010, 2011, and 2012 Unti Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel vintages, shows the same vibrant aromas and fresh flavors of raspberry, blackberry, pomegranate, strawberry, and currant, with pleasant spiciness on the finish.  Typical of port-style wines, this wine’s structure and naturally pleasant sweetness allow it to pair wonderfully with a variety of cheeses, nuts, and chocolates. Likewise, it can stand entirely on its own as a fulfilling after-dinner dessert.

2010 Old Vine Zinfandel

Unti Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County  |   $28  Sold Out

2010 David Clinton ZInfandelOur inaugural vintage here at David Clinton. We were thrilled and humbled by the incredible response to the wine upon it’s release! Here’s our favorite review:

“This is a shapeshifter: soft and intensely Zin when opened. Wait a while and it seems to develop the dust and Sangiovese backbone usually seen with a pricey Brunello and later, as the bottle grows empty, it goes all round and mellow with incredible cranberry, peppery flavors as the tannins get shy and retiring. I’d call this wine indescribable because it’s not the same wine each time you take a sip. This is obviously the Zin that Heraclitus was thinking about when he wrote that you could not step twice into the same river.  – Score: 6/6: Will kill for this wine!
